Planificación para Centro de Recursos Latino
La Costa Latina continuamente busca maneras de brindar apoyo, organizar y celebrar las culturas Latinas en la Costa del Golfo. Nuestro próximo proyecto es el abrir La Costa Latina Resource Center (Centro de Recursos). Los planes de abrir el nuevo centro de recursos, que también incluirá la nueva oficina de La Costa Latina esta proyectado para febrero de 2011.
     Las metas para el local son una librería con un surtido de novelas, Biblias, diccionarios y revistas en español. También nos gustaría hacer disponible libros en ingles sobre viajes y cultura.
     Servicios que ofreceremos en el centro de recursos serán tutoría para niños que estudian español al igual que asistencia para residentes que están tomando clases de ingles. Esperamos poder proveer hora de cuentos para niños pequeños en español, acceso gratis al internet, y un lugar para reuniones de diversos clubs ya que esta bien centralizado. Pronto daremos más información según se acerque la fecha de apertura.
     Por supuesto todo esto tomara mucho trabajo y necesitaremos la ayuda de la comunidad, cosa que estamos pidiendo su ayuda como voluntarios. Habrá la oportunidad de que algunas posiciones se conviertan he un trabajo permanente. En este momento necesitamos ayuda con la limpieza, remodelación y pintura.

Latino Resource Center in the Works
La Costa Latina continues to seek ways to support, organize and celebrate Latino cultures in the Gulf Coast. Our latest endeavor will be to open the La Costa Latina Resource Center in Pensacola. Plans to open the new resource center, which will also be the new office for La Costa Latina, are set for February 2011.
     Goals for the facility are to include a Spanish book store which will include novels, Bibles, dictionaries, and magazines. We also hope to make available books in English about travel and culture.
     Services at the resource center will include after-school tutoring for young students who are learning Spanish as well as assistance for residents who are taking English classes. We hope to be able to provide Spanish story-time for small children, free internet access, and a meeting place for area clubs in a central location to be revealed as we get closer to opening.
     Of course, this will take a lot of work and some help from the community, so we are asking for help from volunteers. There is potential for some volunteer positions to become paid positions after a while. For now, we need help with painting, cleaning, and remodeling.
