Museo Honra Héroe de Beisbol en Mobile

MOBILE, Ala.--Uno de los más grandes eventos en la historia deportiva en Mobile y por cierto la noche más grande en el Hank Aaron Stadium desde  que los BayBears abrieron el parque de pelota en 1997, El Grand Opening de Hank Aaron Childhood Home and Museum atrajo a varias leyendas del beisbol a la Ciudad Porteña para honrar a uno de los grandes héroes.

Hank Aaron, cuya carrera se extendió desde 1954 hasta 1976 y es considerado uno de los más grandes jugadores de beisbol de todos los tiempos, modestamente dió un discurso muy sentido y conmovedor  afuera del estadio en una ceremonia antes del juego.

"Esto es verdaderamente un recuerdo extraordinario de mi familia," dijo Aaron.  "No puedo agradecerle a los Mobile BayBears lo suficiente por hacer esto una realidad."

The BayBears montaron una exhibición con miembros del Hall of Fame, Willie Mays, Ozzie Smith, Rickey Henderson, Bob Feller, Bruce Sutter y Reggie Jackson presentes.  Jackson, un húesped sorpresivo, se aseguró de venir a Mobile para demostrar su aprecio por "The Hammer."

"Estoy aqui por lo mucho que Hank significa para el juego de beisbol," dijo Jackson.

Museum Honors Baseball Hero in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. - One of the greatest events in the history of sports in Mobile and certainly the biggest night in Hank Aaron Stadium since the BayBears opened the ballpark in 1997, the Grand Opening of the Hank Aaron Childhood Home & Museum brought several baseball legends to the Port City in honor of one the game's greatest heroes.

Han Aaron, whose career spanned from 1954 through 1976 and is widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, was humbled as he gave a heartfelt and touching speech outside the museum in a pre-game ceremony.

“This is a truly remarkable remembrance of my family,” Aaron said. “I just can't thank the Mobile BayBears enough for making this all happen.”

The BayBears put on the display with Hall-of-Famers Willie Mays, Ozzie Smith, Rickey Henderson, Bob Feller, Bruce Sutter and Reggie Jackson in attendance. Jackson, a surprise guest, made certain to come to Mobile to show his appreciation for "The Hammer".

“I’m here because of how much Hank means to the game of baseball,” Jackson said.
