Nueva Escuela Elemental Busca Embajadores para Conciencia Global
Pensacola—Allie Ynestra Elementary y George S. Hallmark Elementary treminarán su último dia de clases
permanentemente en Junio 2011. Dos de las más antiguas escuelas elementales de Pensacola se van a
unir para convertirse en una nueva escuela elemental con énfasis en conciencia global y liderazgo. La nueva escuela, que está en el proceso de ser nombrada estará ubicada detrás de las ofi cinas del distrito escolar en la esquina de Garden y Pace y abrirá en Agosto 2011.

Para adquirir un mejor entendimiento de la diversidad cultural y traer el mundo a sus estudiantes en una forma auténtica, la nueva escuela está buscado embajadores que le ayuden a dirigir a sus alumnos a travéz el globo y dentro del salón de clases.
Probables embajadores serán esas personas en la comunidad que nacieron, se criaron o han vivido durante bastante tiempo en un pais extranjero.

La nueva escuela espera que voluntarios de otros paises estén dispuestos a reunirse con los profesores empezando en Enero para ofrecer ideas en el curriculum que les ayudará a los estudiantes
reconocer las diferencias culturales como una ventaja y promoverá una atmósfera de aceptación y tolerancia. Los embajadores de reunirian con los estudiantes para
presentar información empezando el próximo año escolar. Estos embajadores podrian ofrecer poca o
mucha ayuda que les sea confortable o que su tiempo les permita. Las oportunidades para la gente joven de reunirse con personas de muchos origenes son tan variadas como los paises que representan.

Cada grado en la escuela, que sirve desde Pre-K a quinto grado concentrará sus estudios en un continente en particular. Toda la escuela tambén estudiará Español y Chino pra ayudar a preparar a los estudiantes para los diversos trabajos que puedan encontrar en un futuro.

La meta de la nueva escuela es fomentar el interés en otras culturas, respeto por otras gentes y líderes

New Elementary School Seeks Ambassadors for Global Awareness
Pensacola— Allie Yniestra Elementary and George S. Hallmark Elementary will be ending their school day permanently in June 2011. Two of Pensacola’s oldest elementary schools are merging to become a new elementary school focusing on global awareness and leadership. The new school, which is now in the process of being named, will be located behind the school district offi ces at the corner of Garden and Pace and will open in August of 2011.

To acquire a better understanding of cultural diversity and to bring the world to their students in an authentic
way, the new school is looking for ambassadors to help them navigate their children throughout the globe
and within the classroom. Prospective ambassadors will be those people in the community who were born, raised or have lived for an extensive amount of time in a foreign country.

The new school hopes that volunteers from other countries would be willing to meet with teachers this year beginning in January to offer insight into curriculum that will help students recognize cultural differences as an asset and will promote an atmosphere of acceptance over tolerance. Ambassadors would meet with students to present information beginning next school year. These ambassadors could offer as little or as much assistance as their comfort level and schedule will permit. Opportunities for people with a myriad of backgrounds to come together for young people are as multifaceted as the countries they represent.

Each grade level within the school that serves Pre-K to 5th will concentrate their studies on a particular continent. The entire school will also study Spanish and Chinese languages to help prepare students for the diverse work place they will be entering in the future.

The goal of the new school is to foster interest in other cultures, respect for other people and leaders who will continue promoting this goal of awareness.
