El gobierno Federal introdujo el 2 de Agosto en la Corte Federal De Birmingham una demanda formal en contra de la Ley ANTI-INMIGRANTE de Alabama. El Departamento Federal de Justicia dice que el estado de Alabama no puede establecer sus propias leyes de inmigración y menos pasar leyes que contradigan las ya existentes.
     Con esta demanda, El gobierno Federal está inhabilitando las secciones de la ley que permiten a los policías detener a un conductor simple y llanamente porque parece ser ilegal, al igual que las extensas habilidades que se le otorgan a los mismos para poner a inmigrantes en la cárcel que con cumplan con las nuevas leyes de inmigración establecidas por Alabama.
     Además la demanda contiende la constitucionalidad de la nueva ley que penaliza a los ciudadanos y residentes de USA por rentar, hospedar o brindar transportacion a indocumentados. Técnicamente “Es un crimen ser un buen Samaritano”, afirma otra demanda introducida por la coalición de lideres de la Iglesia Católica, Metodista y Episcopélica.
     La ley no entra en vigencia hasta el 1ro de Septiembre. La esperanza de muchos inmigrantes ilegales al igual que empleadores americanos que dependen significativamente de la mano de obra inmigrante, es que la ley sea bloqueada antes de esta fecha. La ley ya ha sido parcialmente bloqueada en los estado de Arizona, Utah, Georgia e Indiana. Alabama y el Sur de Carolina están siendo demandadas.

The Federal government is challenging the New Alabama Immigration Law
The Federal government introduced Monday August 2 a formal complaint in the Federal Court of Birmingham against de New Alabama Immigration Law. The Federal Department of Justices argues that the State of Alabama cannot establish its own immigration laws neither pass laws that conflict with existent ones in the matter.
     With this complaint, the Federal government wants to block the part of the law that allows police officials to stop driver just because they suspect they are illegal. It also intends to eliminate the extensive ability given to local police to put people in jail if they do not comply with the new immigration laws, immigrants as non-immigrants.
     Furthermore, the complaint contends the constitutionality of the new law, which penalizes USA citizens and residents for hosting, renting to or transporting undocumented aliens. Technically, “It is a crime to be a good Samaritan”, is the protest of another claim placed by the coalition of the Catholic, Methodist and Episcopalian Church.
     The law will not become effective until Sept 1 of 2011. The hope of many undocumented aliens as well as American employers who significantly depend on illegal labor is for the law to be blocked for most part of it. The Law has already being suspended in the states of Arizona, Utah, Georgia and Indiana. The Federal government is currently suing Alabama and South Caroline.
