Tres Escenarios, Fuegos Artificiales y la caida del Pelicano “Pelican Drop” desde 100 Pies se Destacan en la Fiesta Callejera de Pensacola
El cantante Andy Grammer quien esta causando sensación ayudara a la ciudad de Pensacola darle la bienvenida al 2012 con una celebración de gala en las calles para despedir el Año Viejo.
El singular evento será la noche del sábado y tendrá tres escenarios con buena música y entretenimiento, un colosal despliegue de fuegos articificiales y el espectacular “Pelican Drop”, que le dara la bienvenida al Nuevo Año de parte de Pensacola. Aun mejor que todo, es gratis.
Los organizadores del Downtown Improvement Board (DIB) se han esmerado con las preparaciones del conteo al Año Nuevo con el 2012 “Pelican Drop” en el downtown de Pensacola.
     “Esta es una fantástica celebración para la familia entera. Niños, Padres, Abuelos y Bisabuelos agarrados de manos pueden cantar con nosotros para recibir el Nuevo Año,” dijo Terri Kuvach, Coordinadora para Eventos Especiales del DIB.
     La gala comienza a las 5 p.m. en el histórico downtown de Pensacola acompañado por luces navideñas y bellas decoraciones adornando la intersección entre las calles Palafox y Goverment. Posado a cien pies de altura, el gigante Pelicano de Pensacola descenderá a la medianoche con un estimulante despliegue de fuegos artificiales marcando la llegada del 2012.
     A través de la noche, la música llenara el aire de la noche incluyendo la presentación de Grammer. El ganador del premio MTV dice estar emocionado de recibir el año con los residentes de Pensacola y de interpretar su éxito, “Keep Your Head Up”. Grammer recientemente estuvo de gira con Colbie Caillat y dice que le encanta hacer presentaciones en vivo.
     Uniéndose a Grammer será el grupo Alvarado Road Show. Con reciente presentaciones en escenarios como el Grand Ole Opry y en el CMA Music Festival en Nashville ,“The Show” se ha establecido por su originalidad y enérgicas presentaciones en vivo con la armonización de los hermanos, increíble destreza de guitarra y su dinámica presencia en el escenario.
     Los once miembros de la banda “Musical Fantasy” seguramente tendrán a todos los juerguistas bailando en las calles con su increíble mezcla de Motown, Hip Hop y sonidos de Big Band.
     Y para la multitud juvenil, el grupo de rock metal MoJiles, una banda que se presenta a largo del Sur y estarán demostrando la potencia de las guitarras electrónicas.
     Los organizadores también han expandido el área de niños y presentarán un conteo único para niños con una abundancia de confeti, increíble diversión y un humoroso “pisoteo de burbujas.”
     “Habrán tantas cosas sucediendo el fin de semana de Víspera de Año Nuevo y bastante razones para pasar la noche en el downtown,” dijo Kuvach.
     Las tiendas y restaurantes del downtown estarán abiertas el viernes en anticipación del juego de hockey entre los rivales Pensacola Ice Flyers y los Mississippi Surge en el Civic Center a las 7 p.m. Seville Quarter, premier centro de entretenimiento estará encendido con música en vivo en 7 tarimas.
     La alegría continuará el sábado en anticipación de la fantástica celebración. Algunos de los restaurantes del downtown crearán menús especiales pare la despedida del Año Viejo y muchas de las tiendas ofrecezaran descuentos pos-navideños.
     El domingo puede que sea el día perfecto para comienzo del año con una visita al Pensacola Beach y al Gulf Islands National Seashore y los restaurantes y barras del downtown estarán listos para la acción de los juegos de futbol colegial americano.

Hit Singer Andy Grammer will help the city of Pensacola usher in 2012 with a gala street party celebration on New Year’s Eve.
    The signature event will be held on Saturday evening and feature three stages of great music and entertainment, a colossal fireworks display and the spectacular “Pelican Drop,” Pensacola ’s salute to the New Year. And best of all, it’s free.
    Downtown Improvement Board (DIB) organizers for the 2012 “Pelican Drop” have gone all out for the New Year’s Countdown in Downtown Pensacola.
    “This is a fantastic celebration for the entire family. Kids, Parents, Grandparents and Great-Grandparents can join hands and sing in the New Year with us,” said Terri Kuvach, Special Events Coordinator for DIB.
    The gala begins at 5pm in the heart of Historic Downtown Pensacola among the twinkling Holiday lights and beautiful decorations adorning the intersection of Palafox and Government Streets. Perched 100 feet in the air, the gigantic Pensacola Pelican will swoop down at the stroke of Midnight to usher in 2012 amidst a rousing fireworks display.
    Throughout the evening, music will fill the evening air including a performance by Grammer. The MTV award winner said he is excited to ring in the New Year with Pensacolians and perform his hit single “Keep Your Head Up.” Grammer has recently been on tour with Colbie Caillat and says he is at his best, performing live.
    Joining Grammer will be the foot stompin’ group, the Alvarado Road Show. With recent performances on pinnacle stages such as the Grand Ole Opry and at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville , “The Show” has carved out its original, energetic live performances replete with brother blended voices, superb picking, and a dynamic stage presence.
    The eleven member “Musical Fantasy” band is sure to have New Years Eve revelers dancing in the streets with their incredible mix of Motown, Hip Hop and Big Band sounds.
    And for the younger crowd, the rockin’ group MoJiles, a touring band throughout the South, will be laying down some heavy metal guitar work throughout the evening.
    Organizers have also expanded the Kids’ area and feature a unique, kids' countdown at 8 p.m. with copious amounts of confetti, and the incredibly fun and humorous, "bubble stomp."
     “There is a lot going on the entire New Year’s Weekend and plenty of reasons to stay overnight in Downtown,” said Kuvach.
    The downtown shops and restaurants will be open Friday evening in anticipation of the hockey game between the Pensacola Ice Flyers and cross-state rivals, the Mississippi Surge at the Civic Center at 7pm. Seville Quarter, the city’s premier entertainment center will be hoppin’ with live music on 7 stages.
    The merriment will continue Saturday in anticipation of the fantastic celebration. Many downtown restaurants will be creating special New Year’s Eve menus, and retailers will be offering post-Christmas mark-down items.
    And Sunday just might be the perfect day to start of 2012 with a visit to Pensacola Beach and the Gulf Islands National Seashore, and downtown bars and restaurants will be geared up for a full day of New Year’s Day College Football action.
