Catholic Charities de el Noroeste de la Florida Presenta la celebración anual de Migración
Pensacola—El publico esta invitado a este cálido evento comenzando a las 11a.m. el 22 de Enero en la Catedral del Sagrado Corazón (Sacred Heart) localizada en la 12 avenida Norte y la calle Mallory. Personas que asistan al evento pueden traer comida nativa para compartir con otros.
     Se observara el tema de “Familia y Migración”.  Esta es una oportunidad para compartir en la celebración de diversas culturas por medio de una liturgia multicultural, incluyendo una procesión de banderas. El evento continuara con comida y entretenimiento representado a distintas partes del mundo. Artistas en vestimentas nativas interpretaran bailes tradicionales de sus respectivos países.
     El evento también intenta educar al público sobre el problema de la traficación humana. Esto es  una manera de esclavitud moderna y es el crimen de más crecimiento en el mundo y el tercero en magnitud. Los organizadores dicen que traficantes utilizan fraude e intimidación al obligar mujeres, hombres y niños en actividades que violan sus derechos humanos.
     Victimas del tráfico humano son utilizadas con el propósito de explotación sexual, incluyendo prostitución, bailes al desnudo, y pornografía. También son obligados a trabajar en contra de su voluntad en servicios domésticos, trabajo en factorías o agricultura migratoria.”

Catholic Charities of NWFL Announces Annual Migration Celebration
Pensacola—The public is invited to attend this heartwarming event, January 22, at 11 a.m., at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart, located on North 12th Ave. at Mallory St.  Attendees are invited to bring a native dish to share with other people.
     The theme for this year’s observance is “Family and Migration.” This is an opportunity to share in the celebration of diverse cultures through a multi-cultural liturgy and flags procession, followed by food and entertainment from around the world.  Performers will wear their native dress and showcase traditional dances from their native lands.
     The event is also meant to create awareness about human trafficking. This is a modern-day form of slavery and the third largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world. Organizers say traffickers use force, fraud, and coercion to compel women, men, and children to engage in activities that violate their individual human rights.
     Victims of trafficking are used for the purpose of sexual exploitation, including prostitution, stripping, and pornography; and for the purpose of labor exploitation, such as domestic servitude, sweatshop factories, or migrant agricultural work.
