Residentes de Alabama Marchan En Contra De Ley de Inmigración
El Sabado 25 de Junio, comenzando a las 6:30p.m., los residentes y los que apoyan la causa, marcharan en Linn Park en el centro de Birmingham en protesta de la nueva ley de inmigración, HB56, firmada por el Governador Bentley el 9 de Junio.
      A los que participarán se les ha pedido que usen una camiseta blanca en solidaridad y traer una vela en un recipiente de vidrio que pueda ser colocado en el piso por seguridad. Los organizadores dicen que  es una demostración multi-cultural, multi-étnica, y multi-religiosa. Habra oradores de  diferentes organizaciones por toda la comunidad al principio y al final de la marcha. Las velas representaran toda la gente que ha sido/sera afetada por la nueva ley.
     La nueva ley, que aún falta que pase la revisión de la corte, permitira a la policia que arreste a sospechosos de ser ilegales si son parados en transito por cualquier razon, convierte en un crimen el transportar ilegales con conocimiento de ello, y le obliga a las escuelas publicas que determine el estado migratorio de los estudiates. Grupos de alabama planean desafíar esta ley.
Los manifestantes caminaran aproximadamente 5 cuadras comenzando en Linn Park, siguiendo a la calle 21, pasando por la biblioteca de Birmingham y la corte, y de regreso a el parque. Se llevara a cabo una recolección de firmas para apelar la ley y una oración al final de la marcha en la fuente de el parque.
     Se les pide a los manifestantes que no lleven banderas.

Alabamians March Against Immigration Bill
On Saturday, June 25, starting at 6:30 p.m., Alabama residents and supporters will march in Linn Park in downtown Birmingham to protest the new immigration bill, HB56, signed by Governor Bentley on June 9.
     Participants are asked to wear a white shirt for solidarity and to bring a candle in a glass holder for safety, preferably a candle that can be set on the ground. Organizers say this is a multicultural, multi-ethnic, and mulit-religious demonstration. There will be speakers from different religious organizations throughout the community at the beginning and end of the march. The candles are to represent all the people who be affected by the new law.
     The bill, which has yet to pass court review, will allow police to arrest suspected illegal immigrants if they're stopped for any other reason, makes it a crime to knowingly transport illegal immigrants, and requires public schools to determine students' immigration status. Alabama groups say they plan to challenge the bill.
     Marchers will walk approximately five blocks beginning at Linn Park, then down 21st Street, past the Birmingham Library and courthouse, then back to the park. A petition signing for a repeal of the bill and a closing prayer will take place at the park fountain at the end of the march.
     Marchers are asked to not bring flags.
