Concierto Cristiano Recauda Fondos para Celebración de Navidad
La comunidad esta invitada a asistir un concierto Cristiano con Julio Melgar y su banda a las 6 p.m. el domingo 26 de noviembre en Gulf Shores United Methodist Church (1900 Gulf Shores Pkwy., Gulf Shores, Alabama 36542)
Formado en 1994, Julio Melgar y su banda mezclaron sonidos y géneros para crear música que rompa barreras, esquemas y desafíe todo tipo de clasificación. Junto con su equipo de músicos y cantantes, Julio utiliza la diversidad de gustos musicales, como punto de referencia para crear cada una de sus canciones y viaja extensivamente en su país de Guatemala como también en otras naciones.
Julio presenta su nuevo proyecto llamado “Vuelve” que tiene 12 canciones e incluye 1 devocional las cuales son una mezcla de diferentes estilos como el góspel, funk, rock alternativo, disco, reggae, punk, R&B.
El compromiso de la Iglesia Metodista Unida es el de bendecir a las comunidades, no sólo en el ámbito espiritual, sino también en el social. Por lo tanto, creemos que predicar el amor de Dios es importante, pero igualmente importante es mostrar el amor de Dios a través de las buenas obras. Buenas obras tales como ofrecer ferias de salud gratis, alimentar al hambriento en comedores que funcionan en las diferentes iglesias, regalar juguetes para los niños en Navidad y el Día de los Reyes Magos en enero, ofrecer fondos y becas para que los niños asistan a los campamentos de verano, enseñar inglés como segundo idioma o idioma extranjero, patrocinar talleres educativos sobre familias saludables, traer y ofrecer los servicios del Consulado Mexicano en el Condado de Baldwin.
Durante todo el año, se realizan varias actividades para recabar fondos que puedan ayudar a la asistencia social que brindamos. Nos asociamos con diferentes iglesias norteamericanas Metodistas Unidas y de otras denominaciones, recibimos la ayuda de grupos de voluntarios, contribuciones de diferentes negocios y tiendas, de organizaciones sin fines de lucro, conferencistas y demás.

La Costa Latina y el Centro de Recursos Hispanos patrocinará al Consulado Mexicano la semana del 5 al 9 de diciembre en Loxley United Methodist Church en el 1062 S. Cypress Street en Loxley Ala. 36551, sobre el Hwy. 59 en Loxley.

 Christian Concert Raises Funds for Christmas Celebration
The community is invited to attend a Christian concert with Julio Melgar and his band at 6 p.m., Sunday, November 26 at the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church (1900 Gulf Shores Pkwy., Gulf Shores, Ala 36542).
Formed in 1994, Julio Melgar and his band create a mix sounds and sorts to create music that breaks barriers, schemes and defies all type of classification. Along with his team of musicians and singers, Julio uses the diversity of musical tastes, like “punto” to create each of his songs and travel extensively in his native Guatemala and in other countries.
Julio’s latest CD, “Return,” has 12 songs and includes 1 devotional which are a mixture of different styles like góspel, funk, alternative rock, disc, reggae, punk, R& B.
The United Methodist Church’s commitment is to bless the community both in the spiritual and social realms. Thus, we believe that to preach the love of God is important, but as important is to show the love of God through good deeds such as sponsoring free health fairs, feeding the hungry in soup kitchens in churches, giving out toys for the children at Christmas and in the three Kings’ day in January, offering grants for children to attend summer camp, teaching English as a Second Language, sponsoring educational workshops on healthy families, bringing the services of the Mexican Consulate to Baldwin County.
Throughout the year, several activities take place to raise funds so that the social assistance can be met. The church partners with different non-Hispanic United Methodist churches and with other denominations, receive the help of volunteers, of different stores and businesses, non-profit organizations, guest speakers, etc.
