Clever Hiding Place Doesn’t Fool Deputies Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in an operation that resulted in the arrested of an Okaloosa County man wanted on numerous charges of violation of probation, grand larceny, dealing in stolen property and resisting without violence. Several notifications were made to the Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers in regard to Johnny Alpin’s whereabouts, however investigators had been unsuccessful locating him. On November 8, task force officers and investigators conducted a thorough examination of a residence in Crestview. Aplin was found hiding in a hidden space under his kitchen stove. Investigators were able to determine that the stove was not connected, or functioning. They removed it from its wall mount and discovered Aplin hiding in the space underneath it. A trap door with a handle from the inside allowed Aplin to remain in hiding, securing the trap door behind him. Alpin’s brother, Willie Williams and girlfriend, April Owens, are charged with obstruction. |
