Pensacola Honrara Veteranos: 11 de Noviembre
La parada del Día de Veteranos comenzara a las 9am el viernes, 11 de noviembre en la esquina de Main y Spring Street en el downtown de Pensacola. Su recorrido será desde Main Street, Bayfront Parkway y por la 9th Ave. South y terminara en Wall South. Puede que sea la parada más grande del Día de los Veteranos que la ciudad de Pensacola haya visto. Patrocinado por Gulf Coast Veterans Advocacy Council, Inc., la parada honrara todos los que han servido y ayudara a conmemorar el Centenario de la Aviación Naval en NAS.
     El gran mariscal será la Mayor Deloris Quattlebaum (Ret. US Army). La Señora Quattlebaum se alisto en el Ejercito de los Estados Unidos en el 1963, y luego se re-alisto por segunda vez en el 1985 como AGR. Ella sirvió en Honduras, Croacia, Bosnia y Haití como Jefe Enfermera Pre operativa. En el servicio a su país la Mayor Quattlebaum ha recibido las siguientes medallas y meritos, NCO Professional NATO Medal, Armed Force Reserve Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, United Nations Medal, Army Superior Unit Medal, dos National Defense Service Medals, Joint Service Achievement Medal y cinco Army Commendation Medals. Ella continúa sirviendo a sus compañeros veteranos después de su retiro al ser miembro estableciente y la actual secretaria ejecutiva del Gulf Coast Veterans Advocacy Council, Inc.
     Uniéndose a la parada este año serán los veteranos del University of Pines Retirement Home, los motociclistas de Rolling Thunder POW/MIA, Thunderbird Honor Guard, Muskogee Creek Nation, Pearl Harbor Veterans en carros Model T, Wells Fargo Stagecoach, NATTC Color Guard, Asociaciones de Oficiales Militares, High School ROTCs, Goldwing Riders, unas cuantas bandas escolares y carrozas incluyendo La Costa Latina y Boricuas Ausentes y la organización universitaria Greek AHEPA.
     Invitamos a todos que vengan a disfrutar de la parada y que demuestre su apoyo y respeto hacia los muchos que durante la historia y crecimiento de esta gran nación se han puesto el uniforme para defender las libertades de la cual gozamos hoy. Sin tomar cuenta lo que le cueste o el sacrificio personal que han hecho.

Pensacola Honors Veterans: November 11
The 2011 Veteran’s Day Parade will kickoff at 9am on Friday, November 11 at the corner of Main and Spring Street in downtown Pensacola. It will proceed down Main Street to Bayfront Parkway and up 9th Ave South to end at Wall South. It may very well be the largest Veteran’s Day Parade the city of Pensacola has ever seen. Sponsored by the Gulf Coast Veterans Advocacy Council, Inc., the parade will honor all who have served and to help commemorate the 100th Year Anniversary of Naval Aviation at NAS.
     This year’s Grand Marshal will be Major Deloris Quattlebaum (Ret. US Army). Mrs. Quattlebaum enlisted in the US Army in 1963, and then re-enlisted a second time AGR in 1985. She served in Honduras, Croatia, Bosnia, and Haiti as a Perioperative Chief Nurse. In her service to her country Major Quattlebaum has been awarded the NCO Professional NATO Medal, the Armed Force Reserve Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, a United Nations Medal, an Army Superior Unit Medal, two National Defense Service Medals, a Joint Service Achievement Medal and five Army Commendation Medals. She continues serving her fellow veterans after her retirement by being an establishing member and current Executive Secretary of the Gulf Coast Veterans Advocacy Council, Inc.
     Joining the parade line up this year will be veterans from the University of pines Retirement Home, Rolling Thunder POW/MIA motorcycle riders, the Thunderbird Honor Guard, the Muskogee Creek Nation, our Pearl Harbor Veterans in Model T cars, the Wells Fargo Stagecoach, the NATTC Color Guard, the Military Officers Association, High School ROTCs, Goldwing Riders, a number of bands and floats including La Costa Latina and Boricuas Ausentes, and the Greek organization AHEPA.
     We invite everyone out to enjoy the parade, and show support and respect for the many, who during the growth and history of this great nation, put on a uniform and defended the freedoms we enjoy today, no matter the cost and personal sacrifice.
