Nuevo Grupo de Apoyo para Sufridores de Tremor Esencial comenzara en el área de Pensacola |
New Support Group for those with essential tremor starts in Pensacola area Pensacola, Florida–The International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) is proud to announce a new support group for those affected by essential tremor. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Lucia M. Tryon Branch Library, 1200 Langley Ave. Pensacola, Florida. The group will serve individuals in both Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. Essential tremor is a neurological condition that affects 10 million Americans. Although it is not a life-threatening condition, it is a life-altering condition that causes rhythmic trembling of the hands, head, legs or voice; frequently impacting every day activities such as eating, drinking and writing. While the severity of the tremor may vary from person to person, it often makes those affected self-conscious or anxious in social situations. “Essential tremor can be frustrating in how it affects the quality of people’s lives,” explains Paul Stevens, the Pensacola area Support Group Leader. “This group will offer an informal place where those affected can be themselves. At our group, individuals won’t be asked if their hands are shaking because they’re cold or nervous. They will find support and fellowship among others just like them—others with essential tremor.” Individuals interested in attending should contact Paul Stevens at 850-994-4305 or paulwstevens52@yahoo.com to RSVP. |
