Ley anti-inmigratoria bloqueada por un mes |
Alabama anti-immigration law blocked for a month By Joslyn Rosado The Alabama immigration law House Bill 56, which was to go into effect Sept. 1 has been blocked until Sept. 29 by U.S. District Judge Sharon Lovelace Blackburn. Blackburn has until then to make her final decision on whether the bill or parts of it are constitutional. HB 56 was passed by Alabama Legislature on June 2 and has caused controversy across the state. A hearing brought a petition from a group of churches, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the United States against the State of Alabama on Aug. 24 for an injunction on HB 56. |
