Lakota Sioux Indian Dance Theatre PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Pensacola State College Lyceum Series presents the Lakota Sioux Indian Dance Theatre Tuesday, April 17. The performance is 7:30 p.m. at the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus. Founded on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation of South Dakota in 1978, the Lakota Sioux Indian Dance Theatre is a Native American dance troupe that preserves and celebrates the rich history and beauty of its culture. Experience the holistic worldview of the Lakota Sioux through captivating dance, music and storytelling set against a backdrop of spectacular video imagery. The New York Times described the performance as “…a great sense of theatricality…a visual treat…more than a spectacle…a ritual celebration that made dancing a ceremonial act.” Ticket prices are general public, $11; seniors 60+, children and non-Pensacola State students, $9; Pensacola State staff/faculty/retirees and Senior Club members, $7; Pensacola State students with current ID, one free admission ticket.
