La Oficina del Sheriff Investiga Robo de Donaciones de Caridad en Destin
La Harvest House (Casa de La Cosecha) situada en 300 Mountain Drive, en Destin, repetidamente ha estado en la mira de individuos que roban objetos donados para ayudar a los menos afortunados. En el incidente más reciente, la noche del 26 de noviembre, un hombre entró por una puerta de madera y luego se adentró en la cámara frigorífica del negocio donde se almacenan las verduras y carne congeladas para personas y familias necesitadas. Los policías dicen que el sujeto realizó varios viajes de ida y vuelta a su vehículo, un Chevrolet Suburban de color plateado o claro tal como se muestra arriba.
     El congelador, que había sido adquirido recientemente, fue dañado cuando el hombre logró vencer el mecanismo de cierre de la puerta del congelador y tendrá un costo de aproximadamente seis cientos dólares para reemplazarlo.
     Los empleados de la Harvest House dicen que, por suerte, la gran mayoría de los alimentos ya se habían distribuído durante la semana de Acción de Gracias, pero el hombre robó unos quince pollos congelados dejados en el interior. También fue visto caminando a la zona de donaciones y removiendo bombillas y artículos de varias cajas.
     La vigilancia por video reveló que el ladrón llevaba un chándal de gran tamaño y también parecía mostrar un enganche de remolque unido a la camioneta. Salió de la escena alrededor de 10:38 p.m.

Harvest House Robbery

The Harvest House at 300 Mountain Drive in Destin is being targeted repeatedly by individuals stealing items donated to help the less fortunate. In the most recent incident the night of November 26th, a man broke through a wooden gate and then into the business walk-in freezer where meat and frozen vegetables are stored for needy individuals and families. Deputies say the subject made several trips back and forth to his vehicle, a silver or light-colored Chevrolet Suburban shown above.
     The freezer, which had recently been purchased, was damaged when the man beat the locking mechanism off of the freezer door and will cost approximately six-hundred dollars to replace.
     Harvest House employees say luckily, the vast majority of food had already been distributed during Thanksgiving week, but the man did steal an estimated fifteen frozen chickens left inside. He was also seen walking to the donation area and removing light bulbs and items from several boxes.
     Video surveillance revealed that the thief was wearing an oversized sweat suit and it also appeared to show a trailer hitch attached to the SUV. He left the scene around 10:38 p.m.
