Celebre la Herencia Marítima de Pensacola
Pensacola, Fl.-- La ciudad de Pensacola será la anfitriona del Primer Festival Marítimo del 10-11 de Marzo, en Plaza de Luna Park en Palafox Pier (997 South Palafox St., Pensacola, Fl 32502). El festival celebrará la historia marítima de Pensacola, pasada, presente y futura.
     Habrá diversión naútica, música en vivo, giras en barcos altos y otros navios, vendedores, eventos para niños, busca de tesoro, piratas, presentaciones artísticas, arrastres de taverna, baile de piratas y barcadas llenas de diversiones para las familias y todas las edades. Vendedores locales, actores, organizaciones y negocios son bien venidos y animados a participar.
     El barquentin Peacemaker, planea estar en el puerto durante el festival ofreciendo giras organizadas, se aceptarán donaciones. El Peacemaker, lanzado por primera vez en 1989 como el Avany, fué construido a la orilla de un rio en el sur de Brazil usando métodos tradicionales y las maderas tropicales más finas. El barco ahora provee oportnidades de aprendizaje a jóvenes para aprender muchas habilidades valiosas y prácticas, no sólo en aparejo, construcción de velas, navegación en veleros, navegación, mecánica marina y carpinteria, si no también en vivir y trabajar juntos en sitios pequeños asi como experiencias de muchas culturas viajando de puerto en puerto.
     El evento es patrocinado en parte por The City of Pensacola y The Port of Pensacola. Una porción de las entradas al evento beneficiará 501 (c)3 not-for-profit (sin fines de lucro) organizaciones locales, incluyendo el Maritime Museum.

Celebrate of Pensacola’s Maritime Heritage
Pensacola, FL: The City of Pensacola will host the 1st annual Maritime Festival on March 10-11, Where: Plaza de Luna Park at Palafox Pier (997 South Palafox St., Pensacola, FL 32502). The festival will celebrate Pensacola’s maritime history, past, present and future.
     There will be nautical themed entertainment, live music, tall ships and vessel tours, vendors, kid’s events, treasure hunt, pirates, reenactments, pub crawl, pirate’s ball and a boat load full of family fun suitable for all ages. Local vendors, entertainers, organizations and businesses are welcomed and encouraged to participate.
     The barquentine rig Peacemaker has plans to be in port during the festival offering guided tours for donations. The Peacemaker, first launched in 1989 as the Avany, was built on a riverbank in southern Brazil using traditional methods and the finest tropical hardwoods. The ship now provides apprenticeship opportunities for youth to learn many valuable and practical skills, not only in rigging, sail-making, sailing, navigation, marine mechanics and carpentry, but also in living and working together in tight quarters, as well as many cross-cultural experiences traveling from port to port.
     The event is sponsored in part by The City of Pensacola and The Port of Pensacola. A portion of the events proceeds will benefit local 501(c)3 not-for-profit organizations, including the Maritime Museum.
