New Latin Night in Pensacola

Here at the Resource Center, if there is one question that we at La Costa Latina are asked about most, it is, “Where can we go to dance?” For many Latinos, opportunities to celebrate our culture with music, food and Spanish conversation are important to help one feel “at home” and are often too few and far between, but that is soon to change.

The owners of Bay City Too are creating a weekly Latino Night as the newly renovated nigh club will transform into “La Rumba” every Saturday night. See their ad on page 2. La Rumba will feature all our favorite music in a sophisticated atmosphere that will also be available for private parties.

“It reminds me of the clubs we had in New York City,” said Kisha Rodriguez, president of Hispanic Action Society (HAS).

Rodriguez has booked the location for the HAS’ Valentines Day dinner and dance scheduled for February 11.

“The stage is perfect for the live performers that will be at the dance,” Rodriguez added.

Included in the night’s entertainment are live salsa music by El Salsero, Michael Aldehondo, and stand-up comedian, Karry English. Tickets for the event are available by calling HAS at 850-341-4544 and at La Costa Latina Hispanic Resource Center at 5465 N. Pensacola Blvd. See their ad on this page.

La Rumba will be open every Saturday night from 5 p.m. Salsa dance lessons are available at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5. Contact LatinFlavor Entertainment for more information at 201-240-8797.
