Da el Primer Paso – Únete al registro de donantes
El Programa Nacional de Donantes de Médula Ósea (NMDP por sus siglas en Inglés) participará en el 5to Anual Festival de la Salsa de Boricuas Ausentes del Noroeste de la Florida que será el Sábado, 23 de Junio de 10am – 7pm en el Parque “The Landing” de Fort Walton Beach. Este evento es GRATIS y ABIERTO AL PUBLICO.
     En el presente, los hispanos representan solo el 10% de posibles donantes adultos en el registro.   Como los tipos de tejido se heredan, es más probable que un paciente sea compatible con una persona de su misma raza u origen étnico. Se necesitan personas de todos los orígenes raciales y étnicos. Se necesitan especialmente donantes de minorías para que todos los pacientes puedan tener una segunda oportunidad de vivir.
     Representantes del NMDP tendrán información y kits para aquellos individuos que estén interesados en unirse al registro de donantes.
     Al unirte al Registro Sé el Donante®, tú formas parte de la búsqueda de muchos pacientes por un donante. Tú tendrás el poder de curar, el poder de salvar una vida.

The National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) will participate in the 5th Annual Northwest Florida Boricuas Ausentes Latin Salsa Festival scheduled for Saturday, 23 June from 10am – 7pm at the Fort Walton Beach Landing. The event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
     At present, Hispanics represent only 10% of potential donors on the registry. Because tissue types are inherited, patients are most likely to match someone of their own race or ethnicity. People of every background are needed. Registry members from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds are especially needed, so every patient has a second chance at life.
     Representatives from NMDP will have informational material and will also have Be the Match Registry® kits for those individuals that are interested in being a part of the donor registry.
     When you join the Registry, you become part of every patient’s search for a donor. You have the power to heal, the power to save a life!
