Por qué: Para conmemorar a los refugiados que se han reestablecido en Pensacola y áreas aledañas.

En 2000, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas estableció el 20 de junio como el Día Mundial del Refugiado.  Desde el 2001, a nivel internacional se ha celebrado este día con eventos en honor de los refugiados del mundo entero a la vez que se incrementado el conocimiento general acerca de sus necesidades.
     El Día Mundial del Refugiado fue establecido por las Naciones Unidas en honor de la valentía, fuerza y determinación de hombres, mujeres y niños que han sido forzados a huir de sus hogares bajo la amenaza de persecución, conflicto y violencia.
     Caridades Católicas del Noroeste de la Florida lo invitan a conmemorar los refugiados que han venido de lugares lejanos y han establecido sus hogares en Pensacola y áreas aledañas. Este evento es abierto al público y tendrá presentadores con historias reales, refrescos y entretenimiento.

Why: To celebrate the refugees who have resettled in Pensacola and its surrounding areas.

In 2000, the United Nations General Assembly established June 20th as World Refugee Day. Since 2001, people around the world have celebrated the day with events that honor the world’s refugees and raise awareness about their needs.
     World Refugee Day was established by the United Nations to honor the courage, strength and determination of women, men and children who are forced to flee their homes under threat of persecution, conflict and violence.
     Catholic Charities of NWFL wants to invite you to celebrate refugees who have come a long way and have made Pensacola and surrounding areas, their new home. This event is open to everyone and features speakers with real-life stories, refreshments and entertainment.
