Oficina de Licencias de Conducir en Pensacola Cierra Febrero 29 |
Pensacola Driver License Office Closes Feb. 29 Pensacola, Fla. – The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will close its Driver License Office at 100 Stumpfield Road in Pensacola at the close of business Feb. 29. The Escambia County Tax Collector will be the sole provider of driver license services in Escambia County beginning March 1. Four offices in Escambia County and three offices in Santa Rosa County continue to issue driver licenses and identification cards. Customers can find a complete list of offices at www.flhsmv.gov/offices/. Drivers who receive notices that they must appear in person at a county tax collector’s office to renew a license, must make an appointment in Escambia County by visiting www.escambiataxcollector.com or by calling 850‑438‑6500. If visiting Santa Rosa County, drivers can make an appointment to reduce the wait time by visiting www.flhsmv.gov/oasis or by calling 850‑983‑1800. Many customers can skip the trip to an office and renew driver licenses, ID cards, and vehicle tags, as well as conduct other driving-related business online at www.GoRenew.com. Customers who renew online will be required to visit a county tax collector’s office for the next renewal. The Department does not charge a fee for using the Internet service. Customers should beware that DHSMV recently learned of websites that charge customers large fees to steer them to the licensing renewal service. DHSMV recently issued a news release to urge customers to avoid those websites and deal directly with the Department at www.GoRenew.com. Florida now requires additional documents to obtain a new or renewed driver license or identification card. Prepare for your next visit by bringing original documents to show proof of identification (birth certificate or passport), Social Security number and residential address (two items). Customers who have ever changed their names legally must bring additional documentation. To find out exactly what you need to bring with you, visit www.GatherGoGet.com. The Department also has a Facebook page where customers can inquire or keep up with news that affects Florida motorists at www.facebook.com/gathergoget. |
