Estudiantes se Asocian a la Comunidad  para honrar a dos Niñas
Los estudiantes de cuarto grado de Global Learning Academy están trabajando con negocios del área para dar a conocer los peligros de incendios en los hogares. Los estudiantes han recolectado detectores de humo y planean distribuirlos en la vecindad en honor de Te'Laysia Jackson de 8 años y su hermana Te'Sjonna Sanford de 10 años,  dos compañeras de clases que perecieron en un incendio en su casa a principios del mes.
     Quinientos detectores han sido donados--250 por Gulf Power Company y 250 por First Alert.
     Empleados de Gulf Power van a ayudar a los estudiantes de 4o grado a llenar bolsas con los detectores, cartas de los estudiantes y materiales sobre precauciones eléctricas y de incendio, este Viernes Marzo 2 , a la 1 p.m en Global Learning Academy. Pensacola Fire Mashall David Allen atenderá este evento en apoyo de los esfuerzos de los estudiantes.
     La directora de Global Learning Academy Dr.Sheree Cagle coordinó el proyecto junto con Gulf Power, First Alert y the City Fire Department.
     ''Los estudiantes querian hacer algo especial para recordar a sus compañeras,'' dijo Cagle. ''Ellas decidieron que colocando un detector de humo en cada casa seria la mejor forma de recordar sus amigas. Esto es lo especial porque fué idea de las estudiantes. Yo creo que les da a ellas un sentido de paz porque ellas saben que están haciendo una diferencia.''
     El Fire Marsall de Pensacola, David Allen, estará organizando a los voluntarios de Gulf Power, Fisrt Alert, City Fire Department y otros asociados en Educación de Global Learning Academy instalarán estos detectores en los hogares de la comunidad a  fines de Marzo.

Students Partner with Community in Honor of Two Girls
Fourth grade students from Global Learning Academy are working with area businesses to bring awareness to the dangers of house fires. The students have collected smoke detectors and plan to distribute the detectors to area neighborhoods in honor of 8-year-old Te'Laysia Jackson and her sister Te'Sjohnna Sanford, age 10, two classmates that were killed in a house fire earlier this month.
     Five hundred smoke detectors have been donated – 250 by Gulf Power Company and 250 by First Alert.
     Gulf Power employees will help the 4th grade students fill bags with the smoke detectors, letters from the students and materials about electrical and fire safety this Friday, March 2, at 1 p.m. at Global Learning Academy. Pensacola Fire Marshall David Allen is attending this event in support of the student’s efforts.
    Global Learning Academy’s Principal Dr. Sheree' Cagle coordinated the project along with Gulf Power, First Alert and the City Fire Department.
    “The students wanted to do something special to remember their classmates,” said Cagle. “They decided that putting a smoke detector in every home would be the best way to remember their friends. This is special because it was the students' idea. I think it gives them a sense of peace because they know they are making a difference.”
     Pensacola Fire Marshall David Allen will be assembling volunteers from Gulf Power, First Alert, the City Fire Department and other Partners in Education of Global Learning Academy to actually install these smoke detectors in community homes later in March.
