Gulf Coast Latinos Unite to Send Aid to New York and New Jersey Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.—ASTRO Entertainment LLC, along with Latin Flavor Pensacola, and Uptown Station will be hosting a benefit “Day in Central Park from Oranges to Apples” at Uptown Station to support, and assist the families in need in the New Jersey, and New York area, which were affected by Supper Storm Sandy. The event is planned We are planning the event for November 18, from 1-7pm at the Central Park in Uptown Station. Entertainment includes DJ’s such as DVDJ Crush from New Orleans, DJ One from Crestview, DJ ILLWIL, and DJ Lecz from Fort Walton Beach; Bands include Tropi Sound from Fort Walton Beach, and others. “I thought it was a great idea because we’ve been hit by so many hurricanes and got a lot of help. I just thought it was time for us to give back,” said Will Vargas, of ASTRO Entertainment. David Collado, of Latin Flavor Pensacola added, "I am from the town of West New York, NJ--that's Hudson county--and Hoboken, one of the hardest hit place is in my county is only 2 miles away. I want to help because thousands of both New Jersey and Staten Island residents are without their home or no electricity suffering the this cold." The event is going to be completely free for the community, and we are asking for donations of non-perishable foods such as canned and boxed foods, we are also asking for clothing, batteries, and blankets for this winter season; and as well cash to send to the American Red Cross for those victims. |
