Kumbia Kings Cierran el Festival Latino 2012 con Fenomenal Concierto
|
Kumbia Kings Close the 2012 Latino Festival with Phenominal Performance The 2012 Latino Festival promised to bring the biggest Latino event in the Gulf Coast, and it did not disappoint. The seventh-annual, two-day event was filled with cultural performances from Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Argentina and Puerto Rico, delicious varieties of Latino foods, and music by a combination of Latino artists that ranged from bachata to punta. Performers and visitors came from as far as Texas and New York to make the Latino Festival another great success. The festivities opened with a grand opening presentation by Zumba instructor, Adina Soto Harris who lead a salute to the Viva Florida 500th anniversary and representation of all the Latino nations. Live musical performances by Impress, Kalcomania, Local 34, Juventud Calentana, Combinacion H, and Amid Montenegro got the crown on their feet and kept them dancing throughout the day while headliners Henry Santos and AB Quintanilla and the Kumbia Kings All Starz closed out each evening. Without a doubt, the Kumbia Kings were the favorite crowd pleaser. AB Quintanilla kept the audience roaring and dancing for more than an hour and a half and kept his on-stage promise to meet with everyone after the show. Back stage pass holders were allowed a special one-on-one introduction with AB and Abraham Quintanilla for autographs and photos. “I want to thank you and all your crew,” said Abraham Quintanilla in a text to Grace Resendez McCaffery, president and editor of La Costa Latina and organizer of the Latino Festival. “We really enjoyed your hospitality and the band had a wonderful time,” he added. “Each year, I always strive to make the Latino Festival better,” McCaffery said. “As usual, I don’t know how I’m going to top this one.” On behalf of La Costa Latina, thanks to all the vendors and sponsors who helped support the event and a special thank you to the all of the groups and individuals who pitched in to make it a great success including Adina Harris Soto, Alejandro González, Frank y Pat Barragán, Brandon McCaffery, Luis Marin, Ursino “Junior” Ayala, Kisha Rodríguez, Lian Ramirez-Crespo, Larry Amado Photography, David Matheison (video), VM Productions, University of West Florida Hispanic Student Association, B.
