Doctorado en Educación a Mrs. Maria Pouncey
Todo el personal directivo, administrativo, maestros y alumnos de PAEC Migrant Education Program estamos de plácemes por el otorgamiento del grado de doctor en Educación a nuestra directora Sra. Maria Pouncey. El pasado 25 de septiembre por decisión unánime, del jurado académico de la Universidad de Phoenix emitió su veredicto aprobatorio a la tesis Avances en Liderazgo de Mujeres de Color: Un Análisis Interpretativo del Fenómeno presentada por la Sra. Pouncey. Este Doctorado es el producto del esfuerzo continuado y una enorme determinación de superación, ya que para obtenerlo tuvo que dejar a un lado muchas horas de su tiempo personal para dedicarlo al estudio y la investigación.
La Doctora Pouncey es un ejemplo a seguir, ya que su carrera docente viene desde los orígenes más humildes; su niñez se desarrollo mientras su familia seguían las cosechas trabajando en los campos agrícolas, sin dejar a un lado su sueño de ser algún día profesionista y poder ayudar a otros jóvenes tener éxito. El sueño se cumplió, ya que desde 1991 ha sido una destacada maestra y hoy, lo ha coronado con este grado doctoral en educación.
Definitivamente, este meritorio logro, enriquece y prestigia a su persona, a su familia y por supuesto, a nuestra institución que esta dedicada al apoyo educativo de las familias de trabajadores agrícolas migrantes.
Examen único para acreditar el Bachillerato SEP México.
El pasado 23 de septiembre del 2012, se llevaran a cabo por primera vez en nuestras aulas, la aplicación del examen único para la acreditación del bachillerato mediante el acuerdo 286 de la Secretaria de Educación Publica de México, todo esto previo acuerdo con la Universidad de Arizona sede del programa trasnacional entre México, Estados Unidos y Canadá: EDUCAMEXUS , CENEVAL. Este examen único consistió en una primera etapa de 4 horas 30 minutos, de formularios de selección múltiple a 192 preguntas en las áreas de matemáticas, ciencias experimentales (biología, química y física) así como ciencias sociales; por la tarde, después de un receso, se aplicó la segunda etapa que consistió en 50 preguntas sobre la comprensión y aplicación de diversos textos literarios; para concluir el los sustentantes desarrollaron un ensayo de 250 palabras aproximadamente, sobre un tema polémico que ellos escogieron de varias opciones; en este ensayo se califica su habilidad para expresarse por escrito además de aplicar las normas gramaticales del español académico. En el próximo mes de diciembre saldrá la convocatoria para registrarse como sustentantes del siguiente periodo de exámenes que se llevara a cabo nuevamente en nuestras instalaciones en la tercera semana de enero del 2013. Doctor of Education Degree awarded to Mrs. Maria Pouncey
 All managers, administrators, teachers and students of the PAEC Migrant Education Program join a spirit of congratulations extended to our director, Mrs. Maria Pouncey, for receiving the degree of Doctor of Education. On September 25, by unanimous decision, the academic jury of Phoenix University issued its verdict approving her thesis: Advances in Colored Women Leadership: An Interpretive Analysis of the Phenomenon, by Ms. Pouncey. This PhD is the product of her sustained effort and a huge determination to excel; to get it she had to put aside many hours of her personal time to devote to study and research.
Dr. Pouncey is a role model because her teaching career comes from humble origins, her childhood development, while she was with her family, followed the work in the field crops, without leaving aside her dream of becoming a professional someday and to help other young people succeed. The dream came true, since 1991 she has been an outstanding teacher and today her dream has been crowned with this doctoral degree in education. Definitely, this meritorious achievement brings prestige to enrich herself, her family and, of course, our institution, one dedicated to the educational support of the families of migrant farm workers.
Single test to acquire the Mexico SEP High School Diploma.
This coming September 23, 2012, we will hold, for the first time in our classrooms, the one-test-only needed to acquiere the special High School diploma, according to the agreement 286 from the Secretary of Public Education of Mexico. This agreement was first accepted and ratified by the University of Arizona which was chosen as headquarters of the transnational educational program among Mexico, United States, and Canada. This program is known as EDUCAMEXUS, CENEVAL. This one-test-only consisted of a first stage of 4 hours 30 minutes where students were given forms with 192 multiple choice questions covering the following subjects: Math, Experimental Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) and Social Sciences. In the afternoon, after a break, the second part of the test was given and it consisted of 50 questions to test the understanding and application of various literary texts, including a 250 word essay on a controversial topic they chose from several options. This essay is used to score their ability to express themselves in writing and implementing academic Spanish grammatical rules. December is the month to register to take this test again. The test will be given at our facilities during the third week in January, 2013.

Folkloric Group A Little Bit of Mexico opens its doors to new members
The Folkloric Dance Group, "A Little Bit of Mexico", welcomes and makes a warm invitation to children from 6-15 years of age living in the Quincy and surrounding areas, to receive free dance classes, folk dances, and belong to this group, which for the past 15 years, represented the PAEC Migrant Education Program.
