Gran Inaguración de La Biblioteca Central de Pensacola
La celebración imcluírá un ceremonioso corte del listón y la dedicación de un nuevo monumento a los bomberos caidos, seguida por una recepción. El sabado 12 de Enero, la biblioteca ofrecerá un Dia de Diversión Familiar con artesanias, música, bailes y más.
La nueva Bibioteca Principal de 51,000 pies cuadrados ofrece un área ondulada para niños y jóvenes, acceso a más computadoras públicas, salas de reunión para la comunidad, cafeteria y una libreria de los Amigos de la Biblioteca. El edificio es la primer facilidad que obtiene certificación LEED.
El proyecto fué financiado por $6 millones de impuestos de opción local, $600,500 de una subvención del Departammento de Energia y el $1 millón que sobró de la construcción de Tryon Branch Library en Langley Avenue. Los Amigos de la Bibliioteca Pública de Pensacola contribuyeron $100,000.

Grand Opening for Downtown Pensacola Library
The celebration will include a ceremonial ribbon-cutting andthe dedication of a new memorial to fallen firefighters, followed by a reception. On Saturday, January 12, the library will host a Family Fun Day, featuring crafts, dance, music and more.
The new 51,000 square foot Main Library features a wave themed area for children and teens, access to more public computers, community meeting rooms, a coffee shop, and a Friends of the Library bookstore. The building is the first City facility to gain LEED certification.
The project was funded through $6 million in local option sales tax, a $606,500 U.S. Department of Energy grant, and the $1 million surplus remaining from the construction of the Tryon Branch Library on Langley Avenue. The Friends of the Pensacola Public Library contributed $100,000.
