Amor por Venezuela de los Venezolanos Locales
El presidente venezolano, Hugo Chávez, perdió su larga batalla contra el cáncer el martes, Marzo 5. La noticia fue confirmada por el vicepresidente Nicolás Maduro. Chávez tenía 58 años.  Aunque los medios sociales y sitios de noticias de la web estaban llenos de sentimientos encontrados hacia el líder venezolano, hubo un sentimiento que permaneció aparentemente constante en los venezolanos de la Costa del Golfo:  el amor y la preocupación por Venezuela.
     "Nunca es bueno cuando alguien muere, pero el país necesita un cambio y siempre empeora antes de mejorar", dijo Paola Vargas nacida en Barquisimeto, estado Lara. Hamizadai Fereira, una aspirante al certamen de Nuestra Belleza Latina del 2013 que representa a la Costa del Golfo, ha emitido mensajes a sus amigos, pidiéndole a su comunidad permanecer unidos.  "Somos hermanos y hermanas de una misma madre que se llama Venezuela", dijo Ferreira en un correo electrónico a La Costa Latina. "El presidente ha muerto, Hugo Chávez Frías, y eso es suficiente para proclamar el respeto, la unidad, el amor y la fuerza de un país. Me siento orgullosa de haber nacido allí porque yo soy Venezuela."  Fereira añadió que anima no sólo a los venezolanos sino a todos para orar por Venezuela y confiar su futuro en las manos de Dios.  "Esto ha sido un golpe difícil de este país y me duele, pero como mi libertador Simón Bolívar dijo, 'La unidad de nuestros pueblos no es simple quimera de los hombres, sino inexorable decreto del destino.’"  
     Fereira es de Maracaibo.

     En una declaracion sobre al fallecimiento de Chavez, Presidente Obama dijo, “En estos delicados momentos del fallecimiento del presidente Hugo Chávez, los Estados Unidos reafirman su apoyo al pueblo venezolano y nuestro interés en desarrollar una relación constructiva con el gobierno venezolano.  A medida que Venezuela inicia un nuevo capítulo en su historia, los Estados Unidos permanecen comprometidos con políticas que promueven principios democráticos, el estado de derecho y el respeto a los derechos humanos.

Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez, lost a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 05. The news was confirmed by Vice President Nicolas Maduro. Chavez was 58.
     Social media and news web sites were filled with mixed feelings toward the Venezuelan leader, but one sentiment remained seemingly constant from Venezuelans in the Gulf Cost: love and concern for Venezuela.
     “It’s never good when somebody dies, but the country needs change and it always gets worse before it gets better,” said Paola Vargas who is from Barquisimeto, Lara.
     Hamizadai Fereira, a 2013 Nuestra Belleza Latina applicant representing the Gulf Coast, has issued messages to friends, asking her community to remain united.
     “We are brothers and sisters of one mother called Venezuela,” Fereira said in an email to La Costa Latina. “A president has died, Hugo Chavez Fria, and that’s enough to proclaim respect, unity, love, and strength for a country. I feel proud that I was born there because I am Venezuela.”
     Fereira added that she encouraged not only Venezuelans but everyone to pray for Venezuela to trust their future to the hands of God.
     “This has been a difficult blow to this country and it hurts, but as my liberator Simon Bolivar said, ‘The unity of our people is not mere illusion of men, but of an inexorable decree of fate.’”
     Fereira is from Maracaibo
     In a statement on Chavez’ death, President Obama said, “At this challenging time of President Hugo Chavez’s passing, the United States reaffirms its support for the Venezuelan people and its interest in developing a constructive relationship with the Venezuelan government. As Venezuela begins a new chapter in its history, the United States remains committed to policies that promote democratic principles, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.”
