Después Varios Meses de Tratamiento Médico, Valentine Se Ira a un Hogar
|
After Months of Medical Treatment, Valiente Going to A Home Valiente, the kitten who won hearts because of her cruel treatment and courageous spirit, will be officially adopted on Friday, July 12, at noon at the Humane Society of Pensacola. Marci Douglas, a Humane Society volunteer, will take Valiente home on Friday after visiting the young cat daily during her recovery from surgeries and skin grafts by Dr. Mark Sprayberry. Dr. Sprayberry also removed Valiente’s ears since they were too badly burned to be saved. Valiente could not be adopted until now because she had to be monitored daily and visit Dr. Sprayberry weekly because of the risk of infection or complications. So named because of her courage and resilience, Valiente charmed staff and visitors at the Humane Society of Pensacola during her long recuperation. She has blossomed into a playful and feisty young cat with no fear of humans, in spite of the cruelty that was visited upon her. No one has ever been identified or arrested for the crime, although a large reward is still being offered for information on the person who bound her feet with zip ties and set her on fire last February. The Humane Society of Pensacola is a not-for-profit, no-kill shelter for homeless cats and dogs located at 5 North Q Street, Pensacola. |
