OCSO Working to Identify Suspect in Two Late Night Robberies Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office believe two late night robberies may have been the work of the same individual on August 12. The first robbery attempt took place around 10:30 p.m. at Alvin’s Island on Okaloosa Island. A man walked up to an employee and demanded cash from the register. She was unable to open the register and he left empty-handed. While deputies were on the scene investigating that attempted robbery, a call came in of a second one at eleven p.m. at the Waffle House on Racetrack Road. The suspect came in and handed a worker a note demanding money. He then took cash and left. The descriptions of the suspect and his clothing matched in both incidents; a white male wearing a white shirt, white shorts, and white hat with a towel around his shoulders. Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS. |
