La Coalición del Interés Hispano de Alabama (¡HICA!) Luchan Por La Reforma Migratoria
La Coalición del Interés Hispano de Alabama (¡HICA!) y sus aliados están luchando por la reforma migratoria.  ¡HICA! es una organización sin ánimo de lucro que fortalece la comunidad Latina de Alabama por servicios y programas tales como ayuda en encontrar recursos y oportunidades para familias. Está ubicado en Birmingham, AL. En estos momentos ¡HICA! está por embarcarse en una campaña de educación entorno a la reforma migratoria. Por primera vez en años la reforma migratoria tiene posibilidades de hacerse realidad.
     En el mes de junio el Senado de los Estados Unidos aprobó una propuesta comprensiva que incluye un camino hacia la ciudadanía. Ahora toda la atención está en la Cámara de Representantes. El Presidente de la Cámara John Boehner se rehúsa  o poner a voto la propuesta que fue aprobada en el Senado. La Cámara Baja solo ha producido propuestas punitivas con enfoque en la militarización de la frontera con México y la criminalización de los inmigrantes indocumentados. Hasta ahora solo existen propuestas y no una ley. La Cámara Baja tendría que aprobar algo idéntico a la propuesta del Senado o viceversa y solo así, un proyecto podría llegar al escritorio del Presidente y al fírmalo él, se convertiría ley. Evite ser víctima del fraude porque no hay proceso de legalización. El proceso legislativo es dinámico así que cualquier propuesta puede cambiar de manera drástica en cualquier momento. Y si una propuesta llega a ser ley tomaría por lo menos un año antes de que se abriera un registro o proceso de legalización para los inmigrantes indocumentados.

 Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama Fights for Immigration Reform
     The Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama (¡HICA!) and its allies are fighting for immigration reform. ¡HICA! is a nonprofit organization that strengthens the Latino community of Alabama through many programs and services such as helping families find resources and opportunities. It is located in Birmingham. Right now, ¡HICA! is launching an educational campaign about immigration reform. For the first time in years immigration reform may become a reality.
     In June the United States Senate approved a comprehensive bill that included a path to citizenship. Now, all the attention is on the House of Representatives. Speaker of the House John Boehner refuses to allow a vote on the bill that was passed by the Senate. The House of Representatives only has introduced punitive bills that focus on militarizing the border with Mexico and the criminalization of undocumented immigrants. Up until now there have only been bills, there is not a law. The House of Representatives would have to approve an identical bill of that of the Senate or vice versa and only then could the bill go to the desk of the President where he could sign it and it could become law. Be careful of being a victim of fraud as there is no process for legalization.  The legislative process is dynamic and therefore any bill can change drastically. If a bill does eventually become law, it would take at least a year before a registration process for legalization would open for undocumented immigrants.
