Sube el Transito de Pasajeros del Condado de Okaloosa County Transit Rises
Fort Walton Beach, Florida - Los representantes de la Organización de Planificación de Transporte Okaloosa-Walton (O-W TPO) anunció ganancias sustanciales en número de usuarios de Okaloosa County Transit (OCT) en la actualidad. Al comparar los pasajeros de Enero a Julio de 2013 con el mismo período en 2012, se observaron los siguientes beneficios:
     Pasajeros total del sistema aumentó un cuatro por ciento.
Pasajeros de OTC en la ruta Exprés creció, aumentando en un 12 por ciento.
Los autobuses que transitan en Ft. Walton Beach y a lo largo de las playas y dieron más de 1000 viajes adicionales.
     Desde principios de 2013 , los miembros del equipo de OTC han entregado juego de herramientas que contienen información acerca de cómo tomar el bus y las guías de viaje detallando rutas a lugares en Crestview, Ft. Walton Beach, Shalimar, Niceville y Destin. Los juegos de herramientas fueron bien recibidos por las empresas locales, muchos de los cuales dijeron que sus clientes solicitan con frecuencia información sobre el sistema.
     Desde el 31 de Julio, OTC había dado 110.884 viajes a los residentes y visitantes de Okaloosa County. Sabrina Sturdivant, Asistente Ejecutiva de la Biblioteca de Crestview, fue uno de los muchos que recibieron los juegos de herramientas. Sturdivant dijo que sabe mucha gente que utiliza el sistema y señaló que muchos de sus clientes usan OCT para ir a la biblioteca .
     "La gente utiliza este sistema para llegar al trabajo, a la escuela y al entretenimiento", dijo Vikki Garrett, Planificador para el Consejo Regional de Planificación West Florida y el personal de las TPO .
     OTC tiene previsto continuar la extensión a la comunidad el año que viene, dice Birchett. Este año, la atención se centró en la educación de las personas sobre el sistema y la difusión de información. En el 2014, OTC planea explorar los medios sociales como una forma más de aumentar la conciencia y ampliar el servicio al cliente.

Okaloosa County Transit Ridership Rises
Fort Walton Beach, Fla. – Representatives from the Okaloosa-Walton Transportation Planning Organization (O-W TPO) announced substantial gains in ridership for Okaloosa County Transit (OCT) today. When comparing ridership from January through July in 2013 to the same period in 2012, the following gains were noted:

• Total system ridership was up by four percent.
• OCT ridership on the Express Route swelled, increasing by 12 percent.
• Buses running in Ft. Walton Beach and along the beaches gave over 1,000 additional rides.

      Since the beginning of 2013, OCT team members have delivered tool kits containing information about how to ride the bus and ride guides detailing routes to locations in Crestview, Ft. Walton Beach, Shalimar, Niceville and Destin. The tool kits were well-received by local businesses, many of whom said their patrons frequently requested information about the system.
     As of July 31, OCT had given 110,884 rides to residents and visitors in Okaloosa County. Sabrina Sturdivant, Executive Assistant at the Crestview Library, was one of many who received the tool kits. Sturdivant said she knows many people who use the system and noted that many of her patrons use OCT to get to the library.
     “People use this system to get to work, to school and to entertainment,” said Vikki Garrett, Planner for the West Florida Regional Planning Council and staff to the TPO.
     OCT has plans to continue community outreach in the year to come, says Birchett. This year, the focus was on educating people about the system and spreading information. In 2014, OCT plans to explore social media as another way to increase awareness and to expand customer service.
