Estrellas Latinas Ofrecen "Consejos" Para Ayudarle a Dejar de Fumar
Cada año, el 61 por ciento de los fumadores hispanos dicen que quieren dejar de fumar, más de la mitad (56,5 %) hacen un intento, pero menos del 10 por ciento tienen éxito en dejar de fumar. Durante el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, que comienza el 15 de septiembre y dura hasta el 15 de octubre de 2013, el National Latino Health Equity Acción ("NLHEAN") - anteriormente National Latino Tobacco Control Network - se ha asociado con la intención de ayudar a hacer que sea una realidad, y promover una vida sana y activa.
     A través de una iniciativa multimedia varias estrellas latinas serán los que eduquen a los consumidores sobre los peligros del consumo de tabaco y la exposición al humo de segunda mano para ayudar a los fumadores latinos a dejar de fumar. Cindy Vela, la "Face of Ximena Valero Fashion" Consuelo Vega, un pequeño empresario y ex presentador de televisión de México y Carla Ortiz, una de las estrellas más grandes de Bolivia se han asociado con NLHEAN a compartir sus propias historias personales relacionadas con el tabaco en un serie de videos en línea. Los videos muestran la información sobre la prevención del tabaco y apoyo para dejar que los latinos se beneficien, incluyendo el nuevo español a nivel nacional Quitline , 1-855-DÉJELO-YA ( 1-855-335-3569 ) .

     El nuevo español nacional - Lanugage Quitline , 1-855-DÉJELO-YA,el numero debutó en marzo pasado como parte del lanzamiento de la segunda ronda de los Consejos emblemáticos de exfumadores ("Consejos") de la campaña de los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC). De acuerdo con un estudio publicado en The Lancet a principios de este mes, los Consejos de anuncios que se emitieron entre marzo y junio de 2012 motivaron a 1,6 millones de fumadores que intentan dejar de fumar. De los 1,6 millones de fumadores que han hecho intentos para dejar más de 200.000 permanecieron abstinentes al finalizar la campaña.

 Latina Stars offer "Tips" to Help Smokers Quit
Each year, 61 percent of Hispanic smokers say they want to quit; more than half (56.5%) make an attempt but less than 10 percent succeed in quitting. During Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins September 15 and runs through October 15, 2013, the National Latino Health Equity Action Network ("NLHEAN") – formerly the National Latino Tobacco Control Network – is partnering with Legacy to help make that intention a reality, and promote healthy and active living.
     Through a multimedia initiative several Latina stars will educate consumers about the dangers of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure to help Latino smokers quit. Cindy Vela, the "Face of Ximena Valero Fashion," Consuelo Vega, a small business owner and former television host from Mexico, and Carla Ortiz, one of Bolivia's biggest stars have partnered with NLHEAN to share their own personal stories related to tobacco in a series of online videos. The videos feature information about tobacco prevention and cessation support that benefit Latinos, including the new national Spanish-language Quitline, 1-855-DÉJELO-YA (1-855-335-3569).

     The new national Spanish-lanugage QUitline, 1-855-DÉJELO-YA, number debuted this past March as part of the launch of the second round of the landmark Tips from Former Smokers ("Tips") campaign from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). According to a study published in The Lancet earlier this month, the Tips ads that aired between March and June 2012 motivated 1.6 million smokers to attempt to quit. Of the 1.6 million smokers who made attempts to quit, more than 200,000 remained abstinent upon completion of the campaign.
