Festival Internacional de Mobile Celebra el 30 Aniversario
|
Mobile International Festival Celebrates 30th Anniversary The Mobile International Festival will mark their 30th Anniversary on November 23, 2013. This year’s Festival theme is “Roots…the Journey.” Festival members’ cultural exhibits, food booths, and entertainment will treat visitors to their own personal and unique journeys from their homeland to Mobile. Mobile International Festival members play an active community role year-round through participation in a number and variety of events. From holiday parades, to press conferences, to sporting events, to school classrooms, even translation assistance, Mobile International Festival maintains a positive and prominent presence. “To commemorate our milestone anniversary, the Festival has planned some special events and appearances throughout the coming months including "An Afternoon of African Music" scheduled for June 15th at the Mobile Museum of Art,” said Bobbie Bayne, Executive Director. The Mobile International Festival was established in 1983 to help educate school children and share the many international cultures in Mobile among everyone as an annual event by playing a key role in education with their focus on world culture and racial tolerance. In 2012, the Mobile International Festival proudly added S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), as a key portion of their education program. In an effort to keep pace with an ever-changing world, Festival members and sponsors bring awareness to the STEM fields of study by placing an emphasis on STEM in their exhibits in a way that demonstrates real world applications from a global perspective. The Mobile International Festival is scheduled for November 23, 2013 at the Mobile Civic Center and Expo Hall, with Thursday, November 21, and Friday, November 22 as Student Days. Saturday, November 23rd, is Family Day and open to the public. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information is available at http://www.mobileinternationalfestival.org . |
