Bajada del Pelícano de Pensacola : Cuenta Regresiva Para 2014
Pensacola, FL—La Junta de Mejoramiento Downtown y Pensacola Mardi Gras Inc., organizadores de la víspera de Año Nuevo la Bajada del Pelícano de este año anunció el calendario completo de actividades para el evento de este año.
     El evento gratuito y familiar comienza a las 3:00 p.m. en la víspera de Año Nuevo en el centro de Pensacola y está lleno de muchas actividades emocionantes que toda la familia puede disfrutar. La bajada del Pelicano  de este año contará con tres etapas de  buena música y el entretenimiento, un espectáculo de fuegos artificiales y la famosa bajada del Pelícano, el saludo de Pensacola para el Año Nuevo.
     Los organizadores del evento han ampliado el área de los chicos este año las actividades comenzarán a las 3:00 p.m., con la actuación especial de Caracteres en el Go, Pensacon, New York Life, Pensacola Public LIbrary y Pensacola Mess Hall. La primera bendición anual de la Ciudad, presentado por Influencia Pensacola, se llevará a cabo a las 6:45 pm en el escenario principal en la intersección de las calles Palafox y Government. Varios dirigentes locales, religiosos, políticos y cívicos proporcionarán una bendición energética y de alto espíritu, a la ciudad de Pensacola para el próximo año. Después de la bendición de la Ciudad es el Pensacola Flash Mob y el increíblemente divertido "bubble stomp" donde los niños cuentan la iluminación del Pelicano.
     A lo largo de la noche, la música llenará las calles del centro de Pensacola, incluyendo una actuación de la banda de fiestas más importante  del Sur Premier Music Band, MoJEAUX. La banda está segura de tener juerguistas bailando en las calles, con su mezcla de Motown, Rock, y éxitos de discoteca. Junto con  MoJEAUX estarán los  músicos de jazz local Antoine Knight, DJ Blend y muchos más. Lo nuevo en el evento de este año es el Private Party Pavilion, patrocinado por Levin Rinke Resort Realty, proporcionando a juerguistas la oportunidad para el acceso VIP al escenario principal, fuegos artificiales, alimentos y bebidas complementarias. En la medianoche el Pelícano descenderá en medio de la exhibición de fuegos artificiales patrocinado por Progress + Promise.
     Aunque varias calles del centro estarán cerradas al tráfico, la zona de restaurantes, bares y comercios estarán abiertos y vendedores adicionales estarán proporcionando una variedad de alimentos y artículos de la novedad también.

 Pensacola Pelican Drop: Countdown to 2014
Pensacola Pelican Drop 2014PENSACOLA, FL—The Downtown Improvement Board and Pensacola Mardi Gras Inc., organizers of this year’s New Year’s Eve Pelican Drop announced the full schedule of activities for this year’s event.
     The free, family-friendly event kicks off at 3:00 pm on New Year’s Eve in Downtown Pensacola and is packed with many exciting activities the entire family can enjoy. This year’s Pelican Drop will feature three stages of great music and entertainment, a spectacular fireworks display and the famous Pelican Drop, Pensacola’s salute to the New Year.
     Event organizers have expanded the kid’s area this year with activities beginning at 3:00 pm, featuring special performances by Characters on the Go, Pensacon, New York Life, Pensacola Public Library and Pensacola Mess Hall. The 1st Annual Blessing of the City, presented by Influence Pensacola, will be held at 6:45 pm on the main stage at the intersection of Palafox and Government Streets. Various local, religious, political and civic leaders will provide an energetic & high-spirited, blessing upon the City of Pensacola for the upcoming year. Following the Blessing of the City is the Pensacola Flash Mob and the incredibly fun “bubble stomp” where kids countdown the lighting of the Pelican.
     Throughout the evening, music will fill the streets of Downtown Pensacola including a performance by the South’s premier party band, MoJEAUX. The band is sure to have revelers dancing in the streets with their mix of Motown, Rock, and Disco hits. Joining MoJEAUX will be local jazz musician Antoine Knight, DJ Blend and many more. New to the event this year is the Private Party Pavilion, sponsored by Levin Rinke Resort Realty, providing revelers the opportunity for VIP access to the main stage, fireworks, and complementary food and beverages. At midnight the Pelican will descend amidst the firework display sponsored by Progress+Promise.
     Although several Downtown streets will be closed to traffic, area restaurants, bars and businesses will be open and additional vendors will be providing a variety of food and novelty items as well.
