Un Cabezazo de Silva Ayudó al PSG Eliminar al Chelsea
Londres, Inglaterra - El gol de Thiago Silva en el minuto 114 culminó un dramático partido de segunda vuelta en Stamford Bridge el miércoles cuando PSG eliminó al Chelsea de la Liga de Campeones por goles de visitante después de un marcador global de 3-3.
     Un empate 1-1 en la ida puso las cosas muy bien para el partido de vuelta, pero una tarjeta roja a los 31 minutos para Zlatan Ibrahimovic del PSG del lado francés dejaron los tiros largos para avanzar.
     El objetivo de Gary Cahill en el minuto 81 parecía poner Chelsea adelante pero David Luiz anotó el gol del empate a cuatro minutos del final para llevar el partido al tiempo extra.
     Silva regaló un penal en el minuto 96 que fue convertido por Eden Hazard, pero el capitán se redimió en una gran forma de volver a casa de untiro de esquina de Thiago Motta para silenciar a los locales.
     La primera mitad fué cauteloso, como se esperaba, pero el principal tema de conversación fue la tarjeta roja para Ibrahimovic después de una entrada deslizante sobre Oscar.
     Fue una decisión discutible, del los visitantes con una gran montaña por escalar.
     Sin embargo, el PSG se lanzó al ataque a pesar de estar con un hombre menos Edinson Cavani desperdició una oportunidad de oro a los 58 minutos.
De un pase atravez de Javier Pastore jugada en la portería, después de llevarse al portero Thibaut Courtois, su disparo golpeó el poste izquierdo.
     El Chelsea avanzaría con un empate 0-0, pero Cahill llevo a los anfitriones al frente a los 81 minutos después que Diego Costa rozo un tiro dentro del área.
Pero el PSG no desapareció, que hizo la mayor parte de un saque de esquina en el minuto 86 cuando Ezequiel Lavezzi impulsó un centro al área al primer palo que permitió a Luiz convertir un remate de cabeza en la parte inferior del travesaño hacia la red.
     El trabajo duro del PSG parecía haber sido por nada en el minuto 96 cuando Silva manejó el balón dentro de su propia área, lo que dio la oportunidad de peligro para enviar al portero en la dirección equivocada.
     El equipo francés todavía estaba dentro de un objetivo de avanzar a pesar de ir perdiendo por un gol, y Silva apareció de una manera grande.
     Primero tuvo un encabezado salvado por un buen salto de Courtois, pero el tiro de esquina siguiente fue enviado por encima del guardameta que hizo un esfuerzo de sacar el gol del brasileño que llevo al PSG a los cuartos de final en forma dramática.
     Bayern Munich jugara con el PSG en la siguiente ronda después de tener una victoria de 7-0 contra el Shakhtar Donetsk en el Allianz Arena.
     Ambos equipos empataron 0-0 en la ida, pero el partido de vuelta rápidamente tomó un giro dramático cuando del Shakhtar fue expulsado Oleksandr Kucher a los tres minutos de inicio por una falta dentro del área penal.
Thomas Muller convirtió la pena máxima y puso al Bayern arriba 1-0, y los anfitriones avanzaron desde allí con Muller anotando nuevamente mientras Jerome Boateng, Franck Ribéry, Holger Badstuber, Robert Lewandowski y Mario Götze anotaron cada uno también.

 

 Silva's Header Helps PSG Eliminate Chelsea
ChelseaLondon, England - Thiago Silva's goal in the 114th minute capped a dramatic second leg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday as PSG knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate score.
     A 1-1 draw in the first leg set things up nicely for the return edition, but a 31st-minute red card to PSG's Zlatan Ibrahimovic left the French side as long shots to advance.
     Gary Cahill's goal in the 81st minute looked to put Chelsea through, but David Luiz scored the equalizer four minutes from time to send the match to extra time.
Silva gave away a penalty kick in the 96th minute that was converted by Eden Hazard, but the captain redeemed himself in a big way by heading home Thiago Motta's corner kick to stun the home side.
     The first half was cautious, as expected, but the main talking point was the red card for Ibrahimovic after a sliding challenge on Oscar.
     It was a debatable decision, and it left the visitors with a huge mountain to climb.
     However, PSG went on the attack despite being down a man and Edinson Cavani squandered a golden chance in the 58th minute.
     Javier Pastore's through ball played him in on goal, and after rounding goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, his shot struck the left post.
     Chelsea would advance with a 0-0 draw, but Cahill fired the hosts in front in the 81st minute after Diego Costa scuffed his shot inside the box.
     But PSG didn't go away and they made the most of a corner kick in the 86th minute when Ezequiel Lavezzi drove a cross to the near post that allowed Luiz to turn a header off the underside of the crossbar and into the net.
     PSG's hard work looked to have been for nothing in the 96th minute when Silva handled the ball inside his own area, which gave Hazard the chance to send the goalkeeper the wrong way from the spot.
     The French outfit was still within a goal of advancing despite trailing by a goal, and Silva came through in a big way.
     He first had a header kept out by a fine diving save from Courtois, but the ensuing corner kick was sent over the head of the netminder by a looping effort from the Brazilian, sending PSG into the quarterfinals in dramatic fashion.
Bayern Munich will join PSG in the next round after rolling to a 7-0 win against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Allianz Arena.
     The two sides played to a 0-0 draw in the first leg, but the second leg quickly took a dramatic turn as Shakhtar's Oleksandr Kucher was sent off in the opening three minutes for a foul inside the penalty area.
     Thomas Muller converted the spot kick to put Bayern up 1-0, and the hosts rolled from there with Muller scoring again while Jerome Boateng, Franck Ribery, Holger Badstuber, Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze each scored as well.
