Festival de Cinco de Mayo Transformará el Centro de Pensacola
La Costa Latina está trayendo nuevamente el Festival del Cinco de Mayo hasta el centro de Pensacola el domingo 3 de mayo, de 1 p.m. hasta las 6 p.m. El evento familiar incluirá actuaciones favoritas tradicionales de presentaciones de baile folklórico mexicano, bandas en vivo, y auténtica comida mexicana. La calle Palafox estará decorada como nunca antes, la transformación de la ciudad en un pueblo mexicano festivo.
     Este año, Lupita Sosa y su compañía de danza vuelve a realizar bailes animados que celebran en México desde Veracruz y Jalisco y otros estados, y también presentará la danza azteca nativa tradicional de los concheros. También regresan para las festividades nuestros charros favoritos del oeste, Alejandro Nevarez y Jesús Placencia Peña.
     Desde la calle Romana hasta la calle Government, en Palafox se estará emitiendo música de DJ Vasco Milord y DJs Pablo Solís y Gipzye, con sonido proporcionado por Rancho Alegre de Ft. Walton Beach y NY Billares en Pensacola dirigido por no otro que Carlos Productions!
     ¿Quieres bailar? Verónica Helt y su grupo de Zumba lo conseguirá calentado y alistando para la música en vivo. No te pierdas las bandas en vivo como Los Andaliegos de Tierra Caliente en el escenario principal, y seguido de Crudos de Durango que prometen un gran espectáculo, ideal para bailar en la calle!
     Varias personas se han contactado a La Costa Latina pidiendo la oportunidad de cantar algunas Rancheritas y nosotros les estaremos dando a unas cuantas personas la oportunidad de cantar en solitario en el escenario! Todo lo que tienes que hacer es saber la letra de la canción "México Lindo y Querido." Cuando la banda de mariachis comienze a tocar la canción, los que quieran cantar un verso necesitan estar en la tarima para tomar el micrófono. Veremos quién tiene un corazón verdadero para Méxicano!
     Una nueva adición a la celebración es la participación del Krew de los Muertos. El mardi graw krew rinde homenaje a la costumbre mexicana del Día de los Muertos y proporcionará un muro conmemorativo para permitir a los visitantes en conmemorar a sus seres queridos con mensajes especiales y otros artículos. Al verdadero estilo de mardi gras, el krew también tendrán golosinas para todos!
     La entrada al evento es gratuita gracias a los patrocinadores, incluyendo a la University of West Florida, Visit Pensacola, Gulf Power, the Gulf Coast African American Chamber of Commerce, y Cox Communications.

 Cinco de Mayo Festival to Transform Downtown Pensacola
Cinco de Mayo Penscola 2015
La Costa Latina is bringing back the Cinco de Mayo festival to Downtown Pensacola on Sunday, May 3 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. The family-friendly event will include traditional favorite performances from Mexican folklorico dance presentations to live bands, and authentic Mexican food. Palafox Street will be decorated like never before, transforming downtown into a festive Mexican town.
     This year, Lupita Sosa’s Dance Company returns to perform lively dances that celebrate Mexico from Veracruz and Jalisco and other states, and will also present traditional native Aztec dance of the Concheros. Also returning for the festivities are our favorite cowboys from the West, Alejando Nevarez and Jesus Placencia Peña.
     From Romana Street to Government Street, Palafox Street will be emitting music from DJ Vasco Milord and DJs Pablo Solis and Gipzye, with sound provided by Rancho Alegre of Ft. Walton Beach and NY Billares in Pensacola engineered by non other than Carlos Productions!
     Want to dance? Veronica Helt and her Zumba group will get you warmed up and ready for the live music. Don’t miss live bands Andaliegos de Tierra Caliente on the main stage followed by Crudos de Durango who promise a great show, perfect for dancing in the street!  
     Several people have contacted La Costa Latina asking for an opportunity to sing some rancheritas and we’re giving a few people an opportunity to sing solo on stage! All you have to do is know the words to “Mexico Lindo a Querido.” When the mariachi band begins to play that song, those who want to sing a verse need to be at the stage to take the mic. We’ll find out who has a true heart for Mexico!
     A new addition to the celebration is the participation of the Krew de los Muertos. The mardi graw krew honors the Mexican observance of the Day of the Dead will provide a memorial wall to allow visitors to commemorate loved ones with special messages and other items. In true mardi gras fashion, the krew will also have treats for everyone!
     Admission to the event is free thanks to sponsors including University of West Florida, Visit Pensacola, Gulf Power, the Gulf Coast African American Chamber of Commerce, and Cox Communications.
