Miles Asisten al Festival del Cinco de Mayo en Pensacola |
Thousands Attend Cinco de Mayo Festival in Pensacola PENSACOLA—Palafox Street in Penscola was transformed on May 3 for the Cinco de Mayo festival. The street was decorated for two blocks in colorful papel picado banners and the Mexican flag waved from Garden Street to Government Street. That was a total of 31 flags, coincidentally the same number of states there are in Mexico. Authorities estimate that approximately 5,000 people attended the festival between 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. and attendees didn’t want it to end. The festivities included live music, dancing, folklorico shows, mariachis, Dia de los Muertos face painting, food, food and more food! All aspects of the event appear to have been a great hit. Even the weather added to the beauty of what seems will be a new tradition in Pensacola. La Costa Latina would like to thank all of the sponsors, vendors and attendees that made the Cinco de Mayo festival a success. |
