Alex Rodriguez: Resumen del Juego de la MLB - Miami en NY Yankees
BRONX, NY--Alex Rodríguez tuvo dos sencillos para llegar a 2.999 hits en su carrera y Carlos Beltrán le dio la  ventaja con un jonrón de dos carreras en la séptima entrada la noche del jueves para ayudar a los Yankees de New York en la victoria por 9-4 sobre los Marlins de Miami.
     Con el objetivo de convertirse en el jugador número 29 en la historia de Grandes Ligas con 3,000 hits, Rodríguez tuvo dos oportunidades de alcanzar la meta, pero falló con un elevado y camino en sus dos últimos turnos al bate.
     "Fue una especie de esperanza para sacarlo del camino, pero tendré que esperar otro día para ver qué pasa", dijo el manager de los Yankees, Joe Girardi.
     Buscando el Nº 3000, Rodríguez se acercó con un corredor en primera base, pero bateó un elevado para terminar la entrada.
     Rodríguez bateó de nuevo a la parte inferior de la octava entrada con un corredor en primera, pero vio una hilera de bolas del lanzador  Sam Dyson y recibió base por bolas después de cuatro lanzamientos.
     "Creo que la gente realmente quería verlo", dijo Girardi. "Él sólo le lanzó un montón de lanzamientos rápidos y  adentro sin permitir que Alex pudiera conseguir un swing."
     RBI (Runs Batted In - Carreras Impulsadas por sus siglas en ingles) de Rodriguez pego un hit en la primera entrada y fue el tercer sencillo consecutivo para iniciar el juego para New York .
     Rodríguez se unirá Salón de la Fama, Roberto Clemente con su hit número 3.000. El le a pasado a otras leyendas en otras listas durante esta temporada, moviéndose sobre Willie Mays por el cuarto lugar en ronronees y tomando el segundo lugar detrás de Hank Aaron en la lista de carreras impulsadas de todos los tiempos, de acuerdo con las estadísticas oficiales de la Major League Baseball.

Alex RodrigueBRONX, NY—Alex Rodriguez had two singles to reach 2,999 career hits and Carlos Beltran stroked a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning Thursday night to fuel the New York Yankees in a 9-4 win over the Miami Marlins.
     Aiming to become the 29th player in major league history with 3,000 hits, Rodriguez had two chances to reach the milestone but flied out and walked in his last two at-bats.
     "I was kind of hoping to get it out of the way, but we'll have to wait another day to see what happens," said Yankees manager Joe Girardi.
     Looking for No. 3,000, Rodriguez came up with a runner on first base but flied out to end the inning.
     Rodriguez batted again in the bottom of the eighth with a runner on first but saw a string of inside balls from Sam Dyson in a four-pitch walk.
     "I think the crowd really wanted to see it," Girardi said. "He just threw him a bunch of sinkers that were inside and Alex couldn't get a swing."
     Rodriguez's RBI hit in the first inning was the third consecutive single to start the game for New York.
     Rodriguez will tie Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente with his 3,000th hit. He has passed several other legends on other lists this season, moving past Willie Mays for fourth place in home runs and taking second place behind Hank Aaron on the all-time RBI list, according to Major League Baseball's official stats.
