OCSO Investiga Puntos Sospechosos de Fraude de Tarjetas de Crédito en el Estacionamiento de Walmart
OKALOOSA COUNTY, FL—Dos residentes de Georgia sospechosos de comprar con números de tarjetas de crédito robadas a miembros de Eglin Federal Credit Union están tras las rejas después que un investigador de Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office trabajó en los crímenes vistos en un estacionamiento.
     Las cuentas comprometidas de las tarjetas de crédito y débito fueron utilizados en lugares en Niceville, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, y Destin el 5 y 6 de enero.
     Un investigador OCSO fue al Walmart de Crestview el 6 de enero para revisar el video de vigilancia. En el video, una mujer alta afroamericana  fue vista usando la tarjeta fraudulenta el día anterior, luego, entró a una camioneta de color negro.
     Mientras miraraba el video, el investigador se enteró de números de tarjetas robados que también se habían utilizado en el Walmart de Niceville poco tiempo antes. Oficiales de prevención de pérdidas enviaron fotos de la mujer sospechosa y la camioneta con placas PZH9450 del estado de Georgia.             
     El investigador salía de la tienda cuando vio la misma  camioneta en el estacionamiento de Walmart de Crestview. De inmediato se puso en contacto con el hombre y la mujer en el interior y nóto que la mujer tenía la misma ropa exacta como el sospechoso en la foto del Walmart de Niceville.                          
     Además, el investigador de OCSO encontró un lector de terjetas de credito conocido comúnmente como "dispositivo de duplicado" en la camioneta que se encontraba a la vista.
     Schnikia Scruggs de 44 años de edad de Riverdale Georgia y George Edward Boyd Jr. de 45 años de edad de Atlanta Georgia están ahora acusados de fraude a una institución financiera.
     Durante el proceso de la orden de registro a la camioneta, los investigadores encontraron películas, equipos informáticos, tarjetas de regalo, joyería y más.

 

 OCSO Investigator Spots Credit Card Fraud Suspects in Walmart Parking Lot
OCSO Credit Card Fraud ArrestOKALOOSA COUNTY, FL—Two Georgia residents suspected of shopping with credit card numbers stolen from members of Eglin Federal Credit Union are behind bars after an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Investigator working the crimes spotted them in a parking lot.
     The compromised credit card and debit accounts were used at locations in Niceville, Fort Walton Beach , Crestview, and Destin on January 5th and 6th.
     An OCSO investigator went to the Crestview Walmart January 6th to review surveillance video for potential leads. In the video, a tall black female was seen using the fraudulent card the previous day, then getting into a black pickup truck.
     While watching the video, the investigator learned stolen card numbers had also been used at the Niceville Walmart a short time earlier. Loss Prevention officers sent photos of the female suspect and the pickup truck with Georgia license number PZH9450.
     The investigator was leaving the store when he spotted the same truck in the Crestview Walmart parking lot. He immediately made contact with the man and woman inside and noted the female had on the exact same clothing as the suspect in the Niceville Walmart photo.
     In addition, the OCSO investigator spotted a credit card reader/ writer commonly known as a “skimming device” in the truck in plain view.
     44-year old Schnikia Scruggs of Riverdale Georgia and 45-year old George Edward Boyd Jr. of Atlanta Georgia are now charged with defrauding a financial institution.
     During the execution of a search warrant on the truck, investigators found movies, computer equipment, gift cards, jewelry and more.
