Hazardous Material Disposal Day in Okaloosa County DEFUNIAK SPRINGS—Okaloosa County is holding a hazardous materials collection day on March 5 at the Walton County Fairgrounds, Highway 83 North ( 9th Avenue ), in Defuniak Springs, South Walton Mosquito Control Office, County Road 393, Santa Rosa Beach . Walton county residents may bring pesticides, used oil, stale gasoline, solvents, fertilizers, paint, paint thinners, paint strippers, batteries, furniture polish, brake fluid, engine degreasers, anti-freeze, pool chemicals, insecticide and spot removers to be disposed of properly at not charge. No gas cylinders or explosives will be accepted. Due to hazardous nature of certain components in home computers, old computer hardware including processors, monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, etc. will also be accepted. Waste tire amnesty will also be held on the same date, during the same hours and locations. Walton county residents may bring up to 12 tires per residence. |
