OCSO en Investigación del Fatal Accidente de Tránsito en el Hwy98
Fort Walton Beach, Fla--Una mujer de Fort Walton Beach murió la noche del martes después de que fue golpeada por un camion con remolque en los carriles hacia el este del Hwy98 en Mary Esther, a unos 150 pies al este de Doolittle Boulevard.
     La Oficina del Sheriff de Okaloosa County está investigando la muerte de Monfils Christine de 29 años de edad.
     Un testigo dice que vio a una mujer salir de una camioneta en la que viajaba cuando el camión se dirigía hacia el este alrededor de las 9 p.m. de la noche  del martes, 15 de marzo. Dijo que el conductor de la camioneta se detuvo derrepente. El testigo dice que la mujer fue golpeada por el camion cuando ella estaba en la via.
     El conductor del camión con remolque fue detenido a unas ocho millas de distancia, en Destin y dijo a los agentes que desconocía que había golpeado a una persona.
    EL tráfico en dirección este por el Hwy98 en el área fue desviado hacia Hollywood Boulevard y permaneció cerrado ayer por la noche desde las 9 p.m. hasta las 3:15 a.m. de esta mañana.
     La investigación continúa.

 

 OCSO Investigation Fatal Traffic Accident on Highway 98
Fort Walton Beach, Fla.—A Fort Walton Beach woman was killed Tuesday night after she was hit by a tractor trailer truck in the eastbound lanes of Highway 98 in Mary Esther, about 150 feet east of Doolittle Boulevard.
     The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of 29-year old Christine Monfils.
     A witness says he saw a female leave a pickup truck she was riding in while the truck was traveling eastbound around 9 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, March 15. He said the driver of the pickup came to an abrupt stop. The witness says the female was hit by the semi as she was on the ground on the roadway.
     The driver of the tractor trailer was stopped about eight miles away in Destin and told deputies he was unaware he had struck a person.
     Eastbound traffic on Highway 98 in the area was diverted to Hollywood Boulevard and remained closed from 9 p.m. last night until 3:15 a.m. this morning.
     The investigation is continuing.
