Pascua y Huevos Llenos de Confeti (Cascarones)

En el mundo de habla Hispana, La Pascua de Resurreción (Pascua) es un momento muy colorido del año que viene al final de la Semana Santa y que comienza con el Viernes Santo.. En casi todos los lugares en América Latina y España, existen prácticas religiosas y celebraciones.
     Una de las costumbres populares en las celebraciones de la familia es el uso de cascarones. Cascarones de los huevos llenos de confeti decorados con colores vivos. A veces, los huevos también pueden tener brillo u otros elementos agregados al confeti. Los cascarones se rompen sobre las cabezas de la familia y amigos. Y, cuando el confeti vuela, significa buena suerte para el destinatario.
Si usted quiere hacer cascarones, se hace así:
Necesitas:

• Huevos crudos
• Confeti (quizás brillante, etc.)
• Palitos de pegamento
• Papel de seda
• Cuchara
• Alimentos colorantes o marcadores de colores

1. Haga un agujero en el extremo ancho de un huevo lo suficientemente grande como para llenar el huevo con el confeti.
2. Dejar escurrir el huevo fuera  en un recipiente. Puede que tenga que empujar el huevo para ayudar a que salga.
3. Lavar el cascarón del huevo y dejar secar en un cartón de huevos, el extremo grande hacia abajo.
4. Siga las instrucciones para colorear su huevo con un tinte o decorar con lápices de colores.
5. Ponga de regreso el huevo en la caja de cartón para que se seque.
6. Cuando se seque, llene hasta la mitad con el confeti, utilizando una cucharilla o embudo.
7. Pegar un pedazo de papel de seda a los bordes del agujero.
     A continuación, comienza la diversión! Tenga cuidado al agrietamiento de los cascarones en la cabeza de alguien. Lo mejor es apretar en su mano primero así usted no hiere a nadie.

Easter and confetti-filled eggs

In the Spanish-speaking world, La Pascua de Resurreción (Easter) is a very colorful time of year coming at the end of the Holy Week that begins with el Viernes Santo (Good Friday). In almost every place in Latin America and Spain , there are religious observances, and celebrations.
     One of the customs popular at family celebrations is the use of cascarónes. Cascarónes are confetti-filled eggs that are colorfully decorated. At times, the eggs may also have glitter or other items added to the confetti. The cascarónes are smashed over the heads of family and friends. And, when the confetti flies, it signifies good luck for the recipient.
If you want to make cascarónes, here's how:
You need:

• Raw eggs
• Confetti  (maybe glitter, etc.)
• Glue sticks
• Tissue paper
• Spoon
• Food coloring or colored markers

1. Poke a hole at the wide end of an egg large enough to fill the egg with confetti.
2. Let the egg drain out of the hole into a bowl. You might need to poke the egg to help it come out.
3. Rinse the egg shell and let it dry in an egg carton, large end down.
4. Follow the directions to color your egg with dye, or decorate with colored pens.
5. Put your egg back in the carton to dry.
6. When it's dried, fill it about halfway with confetti, using a small spoon or funnel.
7. Glue a piece of tissue paper to the edges of the hole.
     Then, the fun begins! Be careful when cracking the cascarónes on someone's head. It's best to squeeze it in your hand first so you do not hurt anyone.
