Festival Latino: 26 y 27 de Octubre |
Latino Festival: October 26 – 27 La Costa Latina presents the 2013 Latino Festival, October 26 and 27 at the Maritime Park in Pensacola (GPS: 301 W. Main Street, Pensacola, FL 32502) from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Admission is free until 4 p.m. then $15 for ages 12 and up. The festival was rescheduled from its original date due to an expected tropical storm, but weather forecasts are reporting clear and sunny skies during the new festival weekend. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy two days filled with live music, authentic foods and folklorico performances from various Latino countries, and fun activities for the whole family that you won’t experience anywhere else in the Gulf Coast. The annual brings famous Latino recording artists to the Gulf Coast for a rare treat. This year, attendees will enjoy live music from Oro Solido on Saturday, October 26 at 7 p.m., and Alerta Zero on Sunday, October 27 at 7 p.m. Oro Solido is a popular New York-based Merengue band. Their music is commonly played on tropical music stations around the world. The group was formed by Raul Acosta, nicknamed “El Presidente,” who is from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Alerta Zero are lead by lead vocalists of the Grammy-nominated group Alacranes Musical. Their popularity and their experiences on the road are being documented on the reality show, “Alerta Zero,” on Telemundo Mun2. Other bands performing bring a wide variety of Latino music genres on two stages. They are: Las Fenix (Tejano), Jay El Revelde (Reggaeton, Urban), Los Halcones de Tierra Caliente (Corrido, Cumbia, Romantica), Liquid Circle (Rock), Dalena and Miguel Alahondo (Salsa, Punta, Others), Danziel Batista (Latin Pop), Amid (Light Rock), Rickyto (Urban) and Alianaza Norteña (Norteña).
